Hurricane Preparedness

Lafayette Gardens Apartments residents should remember certain tasks in preparation for the bad weather heading toward Acadiana.

Be aware and ensure you are as prepared as possible in the event of deteriorating weather conditions.  You should have a flashlight(s), batteries, food, water, a first aid kit, a battery-operated radio, and a fully charged cell phone. You should have access to contact numbers of friends and family members as well as insurance and medical information.

It is advisable to move items from patios and balconies to Storage Rooms or the interior areas of your apartment.

In the event of a power failure, please exercise caution when exiting the buildings from upper floors using the stairwells. The stairwells may be slippery.

Lafayette Gardens Maintenance personnel will be placed on standby throughout the weather event to handle Emergency situations. The Office will conduct regular business hours daily.  In the event Staff Members are unable to make it to the Office due to flooding and/or road closures, immediately contact Security by calling 337-993-8886.

Please be advised that Lafayette Gardens does not have emergency generators!  Residents are prohibited from using personal generators within the building.  Also, no fuel should be brought into the building.
